Assignment 0

I am a huge fan of playing computer games and have wasted a decent chunk of my life playing them. Recently I have become more interested in the way these games work and am trying to learn more about how they are made.
I hope to learn the ways of the force and how the animations in the game work. Most of the games that I play are medieval magic fantasy games and have a very wide variety of animations in the different magics for each class. I would like to get a clear idea of how these are rendered and would love to do something similar to it.
I don't have any particular topics that I want to cover as I don't know much about this field but I would love it if we are given an introduction to the way game engines work. Also it would be nice to learn to make animmations that interact with the user.
